UGA MATHCOUNTS Outreach is a student-run organization sponsored by
the UGA Honors Program that provides a unique opportunity for UGA
students to give back to the Athens community by helping middle
school students to strengthen their math skills and by serving as
role models for Athens children.
As a part of the organization,
volunteers devote approximately one hour a week to inspiring Athens-area
middle school students by teaching new math concepts, practicing
competition-style problems, and strengthening students' problem areas.
Additionally, each Spring semester, the many volunteers involved with UGA MATHCOUNTS Outreach host a friendly tournament for our MATHCOUNTS students. To volunteer with UGA MATHCOUNTS Outreach, only basic knowledge of middle school geometry, algebra, and other mathematical concepts is required.
Our annual local tournament is on March 28th, 2013. Interested in being involved? SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER!
