Mathcount's Mission
Mathcounts Outreach at UGA aims to support elementary and middle school students in Athens-Clarke county in areas of math and STEM. Our university-level tutors mentor young students in Athens and help them develop their academic skills, prepare them for their futures, and grow as both students and individuals. These goals are achieved through weekly tutoring sessions, supplemental practice, connecting with students, and our yearly tournament in April.
Join our team if you want to give back to the Athens community, exercise your tutoring abilities, or work in an exciting and rewarding environment! |
MathCounts Tournament
Every year, Mathcounts hosts a tournament where students can showcase their abilities and hard work they put in throughout the year. Participating schools put together teams that compete against each other in a friendly tournament hosted by our tutors and head coaches.
Mathcounts motivated me to be confident and actively play a role in other children's education, and I did not realize how much I liked to teach at the whiteboard!
It is amazing to see their progression just from a couple of tutoring sessions. Mathcounts has helped me develop better communication and leadership skills. It has been one of my best experiences at UGA!
